Choosing a Flight Instructor

Hey Guys! Welcome back to the Aviator zone!

I wanted to do this video because I recently had a bad experience choosing a flight instructor myself and I wanted to give you some key points you should be looking for when picking a flight instructor specially for those of you guys that are new to the industry.

  1. Your flight instructor should be professional, there’s a lot of flight instructors out there with many different teaching techniques but at the end of the day they should be on time, treat you with respect and shouldn’t make nervous when flying an airplane

  2. Taking flying lesson wether to be a professional pilot or just to puff around on the weekends should be fun, if you’re not having fun and you think it’s because of your instructor you should probably look and try another instructor. Maybe that’s going to make the lesson a lot more enjoyable and you’re going to learn better when you’re having fun.

  3. Aviation is constantly changing, so find an instructor that’s motivated to learn himself and it’s always taking continuing education courses so you get the latest information.

  4. Every student is different so a good instructor should be able to adjust his teaching techniques to meet the needs of that specific student.

  5. Try to find an instructor that really cares about your education. With the current shortage of pilots there’s a lot of guys on a race to 1500hrs and at the end of the day that’s going to affect your education and your wallet.

Let us know in the comments below any other qualities you think a good instructor should have. See you guys next week!
