With a PPL, you gain the freedom to travel at your own pace, avoiding the limitations of commercial flights. The Private Pilot License also opens doors to further certifications, allowing you to build a career in aviation. Additionally, pilots often experience a sense of accomplishment, enhanced decision-making skills, and access to breathtaking views while flying. Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the training for Private Pilot?

- Training time varies depending on the student’s training frequency. We recommend at least 3 times a week or more to those looking to accomplish the training faster. Our schedule is yours, so if you want to finish earlier or take your time, it is up to you.

Am I going to be in a big classroom?

- No! Training is conducted one-on-one with a certified instructor. This allows you to go at your own pace without ever needing to ask questions in front of a large class.

What certifications does Aviator Zone Academy hold?

- Aviator Zone Academy is a Part 61 and an FAA Part 141 Pilot School.

Do I get a certificate after completing 40 hrs of training?

- When it comes to flying you have to reach proficiency set by the Federal Aviation Administration. If you meet the standards at 40 hours, then you can proceed to take the exam and earn the certificate. Some students require more training than others and will not finish with 40 hours. At our school, we have students who finish around 45 hours with the check ride.

Do you offer financing?

- Our school accepts financing, but we don’t offer it ourselves. Flight Training Financing is expensive (higher interest) because the loans have no security (if you stop payments there is nothing for the bank to repose and resale). To find out more about our financing recommendation, click here.

Do I have to pay everything upfront?

- We don’t require that you pay anything in advance, except you must maintain a minimum balance of $500 on your account. If you do decide to pay in advance, you receive a discount on aircraft and instructor rates.

Do you have an enrollment fee?

- Yes, our enrollment fee is $99. This covers creating your student profile, processing your student pilot certificate, and helping you with the medical application.

Do I have to do the TSA Flight Training Security Program (FTSP) application?

- This is only a requirement if you are not a U.S. Citizen. U.S. Citizens are exempt from the TSA Flight Training Security Program.
